HEROES Conference 2012

Last Tuesday, I went to Heroes Conference here in IIUM. This event actually a continuation of The Muslim Heroes Project where the programme basically tells us about the life of the Prophets and the companion of our Last Prophet s.a.w. Masya-Allah, it was a very amazing event that I hope it will be held annually.

Ok. Less talk, let's share. My note may not be fully complete, but I'll share what I got from it. :)
I am not going to divide into part 1 etc. for I don't think I'll fulfill my promise.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

1ST SESSION- BR. NISAR NADIADWALA: LEARNING FROM THE GIANTS

  • The term giants here referred to the companions of the Prophet s.a.w.
  • To become  a giant force is through the learning of din.
  • Never delayed and always hurried when it comes to do good deeds. "ﻴﺴﺎﺮﻋﻮﻦ ﻔﻰﺍﻠﺨﻴﺮﺓ "
  • Leadership is not a privilege but A RESPONSIBILITY.
  • A leader is a person who serve people in the best manner.
  • The beauty of Islam does not underlie in distinguishing bad and good only but also in better and best.
  • Be alert, pay extra attention when Allah says "ياايّهاالذين آمنوا" (O you believer!) for Allah is delivering something for you.
  • The companion learnt din from one ayah and straightly implemented it in their daily life. It goes on when every ayah was revealed down.
  • For them, big sacrifies is their small sacrifies, but for us, vice vrsa
  • Da'wah, islah(reformation) and implemantation of Islam is their passion.
  • A fistful dates of sahabah is much more valuable than our mountaion of gold.

2ND SESSION- SHEIKH IBRAHIM NUHU: INHERITORS OF THE PROPHET - OUTSTANDING SCHOLARS AMONG THE SAHABAH

  • Knowledge is the best thing when you worship Allah.
  • It is on top of the jihad.
  • The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophet.
  • Whoever takes the knowledge, takes the longest portion of reward from Allah.
  • Among the companions that were famous for their knowledge; Muadz bin Jabal r.a., Abu Hurairah r.a., and Saidatina Aisya r.a.
  • The 3 things that Allah will ask you in the grave;
  1. Knowledge of Allah
  2. Knowledge of the Prophet s.a.w (How you deal with the sunnah)
  3. Knowledge of din

  • The sunnah of the Prophet should be on top of our life.
" There'll be only one group that will enter paradise that is the one who follow my sunnah and the life of my companion."
  • The only person who you should take his speech blindly is the Prophet s.a.w.

3RD SESSION- SHEIKH ZAHIR MAHMOOD: FROM ZEROES TO HEROES - THE AMAZING RISE

  • The Prophet had transformed the lowest of the lowest (the Arabs) to be someone equal.
  • He worked on human heart.
  • Islam has changed the most lowest class in the society into a master.
  • The companions are above the dunya.
  • The Muslim is like a body, the high will assist the low and vice versa.
  • The dunya people judge people by dunya.
  • While the akhirah people judge the other by their khair (goodness).
  • The companions had Allah and they had everything but we had everything but we don't have Allah.
  • CURRENT MUSLIM STATE: We love the dunya that we do not want to leave it.
  • That is the result from being disconnected with Allah.

4TH SESSION- SHEIKH YAWAR BAIG: MAKING IT COUNT - KNOWLEDGE AND ACTION

  • Results come from action not talking about how to do it.
  • To perceive values is proportionate to perceive benefits.
  • Brand inspire loyalty, loyalty enable influence and Rasulullah successfully defined our brand.
  • CURRENT WORLD: The person who has dignity, truthfulness, courage, and passion is a stranger.
  • Those who separate knowledge and action is called munafiquun.
  • It is not a question of what you know but YOUR PRACTICE!
  • Learning and success are a universal law.
  • Success come to those who worth for it.
  • There is no gap between learning and practice.
  • Information IS NOT knowledge, that's what iblis had.
  • We are the one who separate ta'lim & tarbiah. In consequence, the "light" left the knowledge.
  • It is not our job to decide whether one should go the heaven or hell.
  • Rather, look into ourselves and ask, "IS MY AQIDAH CORRECT?","DO I KHUSYUK IN MY PRAYER?", "DOES THE VERSE IN QURAN MAKE AN IMPACT TO MY HEART WHEN I LISTEN TO IT?"
  • It is the question of practice.
  • When people look at us, they definitely know we are Muslim and set the example for them.

6TH SESSION- DR. ZAHARUDDIN ABD RAHMAN: LIVIN' IT THE SAHABAH WAY - LIVIN' IT HALAL

  • Wealth is not only material but also include our mind, feelings and energy.
  • If you can't grasp the importance of halal & haram, you arae nothing in the eyes of Allah.
  • Halal & haram  issue should always be the issue
  • If you see the paradise in front of you, you'll be able to do good deeds.
  • Give more even if you have less.
  • Sincerity is the main issue. No point if you do good deeds for the sake of showing off.
  • The first person who follow the Prophet to paradise is those who give out charity.
  • 3 ways to live halal:
  1. PAY ZAKAT - If you are not able to pay zakat, you're not able to do any good deed.
  2. STAY AWAY FROM RIBA' -  Gain knowledge what is riba' and what is not.
  3. THE ABILITY TO REPENT TO ALLAH - The true believer feels like their sin is like a mountain while the fasik sees the sin like nothing.

7TH SESSION- SHEIKH DAOOD BUTT: MEN AND WOMEN: PARTNERS IN THE JOURNEY OF ALLAH

  • If the marriage is good for you, go on, if not, wait until your turn to arrive.
  • Take the example of the life of the companion as your guidance..
  • Fasting as the shield guard of your desire.
  • Busy yourselves with some good deeds and always tadabbur  the Quran.
  • Every pious person has the past and every sinner has their future.
  • You may hate someone's past but not their present and future.

9TH SESSION- SHEIKH YAWAR BAIG: HAPPINESS - EVER AFTER
  • The return of investment that we made with respect to hereafter.
  • All sacrifice has its end but it depends on how we do it.
  • We are the ummah of story listener, that's why we have no action. Put ourselves in their reality, imagine and feel it.
  • Live with the Kalamullah, bring up the kalam.
  • Starting from now, make a habit, you don't sleep at night before you make a du'a for the ummah. This is the least we can do for them.

10TH SESSION- USTAZ SHAREEF EL ARBI: AMAZING FAITH: FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT

  • Knowledge of the tongue is not a benefit.
  • Knowledge of the heart is the most fruitful one.
  • Allah has placed light in everyone's heart.
  • How the companions had the amazing faith?"ﻨﻮﺮ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻨﻮﺮ "  light upon light.
  • The representation of faith includes our action and saying.
  • The Prophet spent 13 years changing the belief of the companions until their heart get attached to hereafter.
  • Change starts with our belief and conviction.
**************

Hope you benefit something from this post. :)

A du'a that we can practice to strengthen our heart;

"O Allah, we cannot be like the sahabah , but give us the tawfiq  for we can be resurrected with them in the Day of Judgement."

Last but not least?

DO YOU KNOW YOUR HEROES?
